Pray for Albania

Week of Oct. 29 - Nov. 4, 2012

According to the latest IMF report on Albania’s economy, the country, unlike other Balkan countries, has managed to avoid recession, but the consequences of the financial crisis are denting the local economy and are slowing growth down. http://www.euinside.eu/en/news/where-is-albania-headed-to

1) Let us thank the Lord for this good financial report concerning Albania. Most of the other Balkan countries are struggling.

2) Let us pray that Albania will stay insulated from the overall world financial crisis. May the legislators and captains of industry have wisdom.

3) Lord, we ask for open doors for Christians that are true to Biblical financial principles to be favored in the business world of Albania. We pray that doors would be open for Christian business people; may they have financial backing and favor in the marketplace.

4) We pray that Christians would find employment. May they acquire skills that are in high demand.

5) Most of all let’s pray for those pastors that have to work a secular job and pastor also. May their jobs not consume all their time and may they be given extra energy, especially clarity of mind.

6) Let us pray that the church members would tithe and even give above the tithe. May they enter into the joy of giving. Lord, we pray for the 100% blessing.

Patriarchal societal customs that disenfranchise women, along with high rates of poverty, domestic violence and governmental corruption have made Albania a pivotal location for the trafficking industry. The country serves as both a source of trafficking victims and a transit hub

7) Patriarchal society, disenfranchised women, poverty, etc. there is still no right for Albanian women to suffer violence. Lord, we ask for relief. May there be a movement in Albania to bring dignity to women.

8) This trafficking in women must stop. First of all we pray for exposure of any and all government people that are involved in human trafficking. Let us pray that any judge that looks the other way and perverts justice in regards to these women be removed.

9) Lord, raise up righteous judges, attorneys and prosecutors. May all corruption be exposed.

10) Lord, we pray for these abused women. Give them a route of escape. www.exoduscry.com

Pray for Turkey

Week Oct. 22-28, 2012 [Why do we pray for Turkey if only 5% is in the Balkans? The fact is Turkey has greatly influenced the Balkans throughout history.]

I wanted to spot-light a ministry that is using modern tools to reach Turks for Jesus.

Internet Outreach A project of TURKISH WORLD OUTREACH

God is moving in many dramatic and supernatural ways these days among Muslims. And the Internet is opening up incredible opportunities for evangelism.

Turkish World Outreach workers are experiencing phenomenal results with their Internet outreach among Turkish Muslims. Their community chat room and forum have led hundreds of Turks to Christ.

Turks are all over the Internet. Turkey is the 4th largest user of Facebook in the world, with 26 million and growing each day. Smart phones are as common among Turks as they are Americans. And when the Turkish government made some motions toward banning some content on the Internet, it has never seen such unanimous public disapproval.

Daniel 12:4 Amplified Bible (AMP)
But you, O Daniel, shut up the words and seal the Book until the time of the end. [Then] many shall run to and fro and search anxiously [through the Book], and knowledge [of God’s purposes as revealed by His prophets] shall be increased and become great.

1) A new day, a new time (end-times), and new tools to spread the Gospel. Lord, we thank You for this day and time when knowledge has been increased. May we understand the battle waged through knowledge (good and evil) and overwhelm the enemy with truth.

2) Radio and television has been a beneficial tool for spreading the Gospel but through Internet we can actually interact with people using the social networking software. Let us pray for the expansion of the Internet. Lord, we ask for expansion worldwide, jungles, deserts and every remote area of the earth.

3) Lord, we thank You for Turkish World Outreach and how they are using the Internet to reach the Turkish people. May funds flow in so they can expand their reach.

4) Let us pray for social network evangelist. Let us pray for Evangelical Christian schools and universities to embrace this technology and train Internet evangelist to reach the world from their computer.

Habakkuk 2:14 KJV
For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

5) Lord, You have commissioned us to go into all the earth and preach the Gospel. Although Turkey is now 97% Islam, let us pray for the doors to open to the Gospel.

6) The untold story is the many “houses of prayer” that is opening up in Turkey. A church building can come under attack but house of prayer are low-key, but powerful.

7) Let us pray for protection of these houses of prayer. May there be an “open heaven” or divine portal for the saints to receive power to reach Turkey with the Gospel.

8) May their prayers lay out a pathway for the outpouring of the Gospel.

Acts 2:14 KJV
These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.

Pray for Slovenia

Week of Oct. 15-21, 2012

Slovenia Minister: Reforms Last Shot to Avoid Bailout
Slovenia's budget, pension and labor reforms are the country's last shot to exit the grips of Europe's sovereign-debt crisis on its own, but should suffice, Finance Minister Janez Šušteršič said.

"I guess this our last shot if we want to solve the problems by our own means," Mr. Šušteršič said in an interview.

The new government, set up in February, is "working hard and fast" and hopes to get major overhauls of the labor and pension rules done by year-end to accompany an aggressive deficit-cutting budget, he said.

Proverbs 22:7
The rich rules over the poor, And the borrower is servant to the lender.

1)      This is so encouraging to see a Balkan country that is trying to work out their financial problems themselves. Let us pray that government and financial ministers would be given wisdom.
2)      Lord, help Slovenes as they have to cut back and sacrifice in order for financial correction to take place.
3)      Slovenia is in no way a lending nation, but let us pray for a miraculous transformation. Lord, raise up managers that can be guides to prosperity.

2 Corinthians 7:1 Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

4)      Let us pray for a healthy fear of God in the churches in Slovenia. As the scripture says, may Slovenian Christians realize the great rewards and promises they have from God and turn from all filthiness and be holy before the Lord.  Lord, you set before us life and death, may we choose life and life abundant. John 10:10b  “…I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
5)      Being cleansed of all filthiness and being perfected in holiness we tend to shine or as Jesus said, “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. (Matt. 5:14-16) Lord, may the Slovenian Church be a light of hope.
6)      Pray for Slovenian Christians based on 1 Corinthians 13:4-8a, “Love is, patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.”
7)      Pray for God’s blessing on the Christians of Slovenia. May they be led by the Holy Spirit to share the love of Jesus everywhere they go.
8)      In 2006 Slovenia legalized “civil unions” for homosexuals. Let us pray for the homosexuals in Slovenia, may there be Christians led to go share the love of God with them.
9)      Pray that men in evangelical churches would better understand their importance and role in the family, the church and in society. Pray that men would become more connected to one another through prayer and support the weaker brothers among them.

 Week of Oct. 8-14, 2012

Serb hero fishes the desperate from Danube, [from] suicide
BELGRADE, Serbia (AP) — On a bright autumn day, Renato Grbic was out fishing on the Danube with his brother when he heard a big splash. At first, he thought somebody had thrown something off the bridge.
Then he saw a man flailing in the water.

"We hurried and pulled the man out," Grbic recalls. "I remember telling him: Such a glorious day and you want to kill yourself!"

It was the first time Grbic saved a life. From that day 15 years ago, his own life would never be the same. The bright-eyed, tattooed restaurant owner from a shabby industrial zone on the outskirts of Belgrade has rescued 25 people who tried to kill themselves by jumping off the tall bridge over the Danube.

This is a good story and a sad story.

1) Lord, we thank You for this man being in the place he is in. He is a modern day ‘good Samaritan’. Pray for this man that he would get to know Jesus, the One who has saved him and all mankind.
2) If you go on to read the full story, Mr. Grbic says these people are mainly just lonely. Let us pray for those that have no hope and are lonely in Serbia. Let the door open for the Gospel to come in to them.

Let us celebrate another hero in Serbia.

BEIJING (AP) — Top-seeded Novak Djokovic extended his perfect record at the China Open when he defeated third-seeded Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France 7-6 (7-4), 6-2 in the final on Sunday.
Two weeks ago Novak Djokovic gave his name in support of Nick Vuicic, a minister of the Gospel that was born without arms or legs. He introduced Nick at two gatherings of 10,000 people in Belgrade and 8,000 in Novi Sad.
Pastor Daniel Kuranji of novi Sad says, “This is all we can say! Wow! Amazing event, amazing God!”

3) Lord, we just want to thank You for these gatherings and so many in Serbia getting to hear the Gospel. May the seeds planted be watered. Lead every precious soul to a Christian that can open the Word to them.
4) I do not know the condition of Novak Djokovic but let us ask the Lord to continue to bless him above his dreams. Lord, let not fame and fortune be a trap that clouds the grace You have for Novak.
5) Let us pray that Nick Vuicic’s ministry would continue to expand and he would see many come to the knowledge of Jesus. James 5:20 Remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of their way will save them from death and cover over a multitude of sins.

BELGRADE -- Serbian Patriarch Irinej has urged Prime Minister Ivica Dačić to ban the upcoming gay Pride Parade.
[Patriarch] Irinej also called for the ban of a photo exhibit by Swedish artist Elisabeth Ohlson Wallin, which shows Jesus Christ dressed in women's clothing.

In a release submitted to Tanjug, the patriarch says the "tragicomic parade of shame" casts a heavy moral shadow on Belgrade, on Serbia's longstanding Christian culture and the dignity of the family, as the basic unit of humanity.

"I had not expected that this year I would again be forced to turn to you on behalf of the Serbian Orthodox Church, its members, who are the dominant majority in Serbia, and on behalf of numerous members of other religions, with the plea and demand that, by your authority as prime minister, you prevent the scandalous exhibit of photographs by Swedish artist Elisabeth Ohlson Wallin," Irinej wrote.

6) Let us thank the Lord that the Serbian Orthodox church is morally correct on this issue. Let us pray that the Orthodox in Serbia will speak out more on moral issues. (Speak out with love)
7) Let us pray for the media in Serbia to publish the truth about homosexuality. May they tell of the wrecked lives, despair, diseases and young deaths these miss-guided people go through.
8) Lord, we ask that You raise up a team to go unto this homosexual sub-culture in Serbia and love them like Jesus would.
9) Lord, help Serbia to stand strong in this decision to ban this parade. It seems the whole world is speaking against Serbia for not celebrating this deplorable life style. Thank Lord for that strong character in the Serbian people to stand up for what they believe. They will truly be courageous for the Lord when they have embraced the Gospel.

Pray for Romania

Week of Oct. 1-7, 2012

I want to promote a ministry; Heart 2 Heart, check out this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=029w0arDv20

History, The Orphans of Romania
– Romania was under a Communist dictator named Nicolae Ceaușescu from 1965 to 1989. Having complete controlling power he set out on a plan to make Romania great. Two of the obsessions he had was to make the capital city of Bucharest the Paris of Eastern Europe and to raise the falling birth-rate of the Romanian ethnic population. Ceausescu set up a policy of taking resources from the country side and other Romanian cities to build up the capital. Also he banded all contraceptives for women and taxed families that did not have four or more children. The capital was built with amazing avenues, buildings and canals but the rest of the country was plunged into dire poverty. As the families had more and more children, they could not take care of them and starvation began to be epidemic. Mothers felt the most humane thing to do was abandon their new-born children at the hospital. Orphanages were set up but were under staffed. The children were left unattended and those that survived were mentally scared.

1)    First of all let us thank the Lord for all the agencies that came in to minister to the orphans after communism fell. Lord, You heard the cry of the abandoned ones.
2)    Let us pray for the funding of these agencies. Lord, bless their efforts above and beyond.
3)    May each person giving their time and/or their money to these orphans be rewarded in this life and the life to come.
4)    The new government has addressed the problem and has been working hard to reverse the abandonment of the orphans. Lord, we thank You for the caring heart You are developing in the government. We pray that the Romanian government would leave a legacy of having brought many orphans to full citizenship.
5)    The very thing every orphan lacks is a family relationship. They desire to have parents that not only love them but they desire to love in return. Lord, we ask that You fill that hole in their hearts with Yourself. Help us as Christians to care for the orphans.
James 1:27
Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.
John 14:18
I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.

Another ministry I want to honor for their outreach to Romania is European Initiative, of which my wife and I have became a part of, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crLcyqPM90I&feature=player_embedded. This coming January 2013 EI will have their 5th outreach to the Gypsies in Romania. I want to personally invite you to join us on this outreach; Your life will forever be changed as Jesus uses you to minister to the very, very poor. Send email inquires to djerilo@aol.com.

6)    Let us pray for European Initiative and the burden of compassion they have for the poor of Romania.
7)    Let us pray for the coming 5th outreach in January, 2013. Lord, touch the hearts of those You desire to come. May faith arise and the finances follow in for their airfare and lodging.
8)    Let us pray for the container of boots and shoes that need to be shipped from Virginia to Romania to be used in the outreach. Also pray for the safe delivery of the coats from New Orleans to Romania. The shoes are ready and the coats are coming together. We pray for the (anonymous) company that donated the shoes and all the churches and individuals giving the coats.
9)    The only thing holding up the above shipments is the money for shipping. Oh, Lord, we pray that that money will be released quickly. Let it be loosed in the name of Jesus.
10)    We ask for the Holy Spirit and the host of angel to begin preparing the hearts of those in the villages that He is sending us to; salvations, healings, spirit of poverty broken, etc.
