In the News: Cabinet meeting: Several draft laws proposed aimed at improving rule of law, new OGP team to be appointed soon
Published date: 05.12.2014 10:46 | Author: PR Bureau

Podgorica, Montenegro (5 December 2014) – The Cabinet of Montenegro held the 92nd session earlier today, chaired by Prime Minister Milo Đukanović, adopted several draft laws, among which the very important ones for the rule of law area, such as on the Constitutional Court, the State Prosecution, and the Special State Prosecution. The Government also adopted draft amendments to the law on public gatherings, and discussed tax policies and further activities within the Open Government Partnership.

The new draft law on the Constitutional Court of Montenegro regulates the appointment of constitutional judges and the competences on constitutional appeals.

The State Prosecution draft law is intended as a measure towards improving judicial independence,... Its adoption will ensure objective and transparent procedures for election of state prosecutors, which will improve prosecutorial independence. The legal novelties establish a unique system of State Prosecutors’ appointment across the country, ensuring further transparency and merit-based selection.

The draft law on Special State Prosecution envisaged in Action Plans for Chapters 23 and 24 is a measure aimed at establishing independent, efficient, and specialised anti-corruption and anti-crime bodies. Its adoption will ensure a more efficient processing of organised crime and public sector corruption in cases of a public official’s corruption in accordance with the legislation regulating conflicts of interest. The new law will also ensure more efficient processing of crimes with graft elements in the private sector and in instances of money laundering, terrorism, and war crimes.

The Cabinet also discussed further activities within the Open Government Partnership (OGP) initiative and it clarified that five representatives from civil society at the OGP Operational Team should be appointed in accordance with the Decision on manner and procedure of establishing cooperation between the state administration and NGOs.

Remarks: Many times over the years here at Praying For the Balkans we have prayed for justice in Montenegro. Corruption has been the curse that has plagued the land. The above article talks of the Open Government Partnership and “establishing independent, efficient, and specialized anti-corruption and anti-crime bodies.” Also the “appointment of constitutional judges and the competences on constitutional appeals” is a positive sign.

Prayer Points:
1)    We see these steps toward justice that the Montenegrin government is taking as the Lord’s hand of mercy upon the land. Lord, You have heard the cry of the oppressed.
2)    Let us pray that this proposed legislation would be enacted and carried out as prescribed so the ethical standards can be raised in Montenegro.
3)    Let us pray for more accountability to come from those elected and chosen to lead the government.
4)    Corruption is an injustice to the population as a whole, but especially the poor and inadequately educated. Let us pray that the poor of Montenegro would see justice.
5)    Let us pray for the doors of opportunity to open up to the poor.

Job 5:11-16
He sets on high those who are lowly,
And those who mourn are lifted to safety.
He frustrates the devices of the crafty,
So that their hands cannot carry out their plans.
He catches the wise in their own craftiness,
And the counsel of the cunning comes quickly upon them.
They meet with darkness in the daytime,
And grope at noontime as in the night.
But He saves the needy from the sword,
From the mouth of the mighty,
And from their hand.
So the poor have hope,
And injustice shuts her mouth.

6)    The above verses are from Job’s friend Eliphaz. Let these verses guide you in praying for the humble in spirit and that the poor are raised up. May He cast down the wicked and crafty. God will bring hope to the poor and the injustice against them will be silenced.
7)    May those with corrupt hearts find that their hands are unable to carry out their plans. May the corrupt be exposed and fully prosecuted.
8)    It is time to intercede for Montenegro. May the Lord touch us deeply as intercessors to believe for heaven to invade Montenegro this year.
9)    Lord, we pray that You would speak humility to the Christians of Montenegro. May they repent of known sins and ask for the blood of the cross to cleanse them. May the burden of sin be lifted and heavenly joy come forth.
10)    Let us pray from a new revelation of renewal and hope to fill the hearts of the evangelical pastors. When they stand up to preach, let the Holy Spirit bring forth words of life that will set people free.
11)    I see the pastors being given a key that they will use to unlock those chained to habitual sins. The word of God will set the captives free.
12)    God will raise up a remnant to pray for Montenegro and the enemy will hear the trumpet of the Lord sounding out the call for angels to assemble for battle. Let us stand in prayer for this remnant; Lord, give them boldness to call down heaven’s armies.

Pray for Montenegro

Week of July 28 - Aug. 3, 2014

So much intercession, evangelism and teaching needs to be done in Montenegro. There are just so few evangelical churches and so few Christians in a country that has complete freedom of religion. There are three evangelical/protestant churches and maybe about 8 to 10 home groups; Less than 200 evangelical Christians in the whole country.

Prayer Points
1)    Let us first pray that the Lord would move the Holy Spirit toward this forsaken land. Let us pray for the compassion of heaven.
2)    Oh, Lord Jesus, send missionaries and raise up Montenegrin Christians that burn for their nation.
3)    Let us pray that the Father would extend mercy toward Montenegro and send out the Holy Spirit to stir the people’s hearts.

Kotor Bay: A Haven for Billionaires’ Yachts

In my research of Montenegro I came across information of foreign investment in the tourist industry. I can’t give the source due to copy-right laws.

There is development aimed at attracting the very wealthy to bring their yachts to Kotor Bay and enjoy the rugged but beautiful Adriatic coast of Montenegro. It is expected to be one of the most ambitious leisure projects along the Mediterranean. Development has already started for two marinas, seven hotels, a golf course and hundreds of villas, town houses and apartments. The unique small church buildings and prayer towers will become picture backdrops for tourist.

Now this is good news for Montenegro’s economy. The question is, what will happen spiritually? What is not said, is the gambling and prostitution that will follow.

4)    Lord, we are happy to see money coming into Montenegro to help the economy. Poverty is vide spread and people are hurting.
5)    Let us pray that Christians would seek out jobs in construction, hotel services and management, that Christians would open shops: coffee shops and other tourist establishments. Lord, send in Your salt. Matthew 5:13a “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned?”
6)    Let us pray for mature Christians who are sold out for Jesus, that will not lose their flavor but stand on that land and cry out daily for His presence.
7)    Let us ask the Lord to bring confusion upon the enemy and his plans to use this development for dark purposes.

Pray for Montenegro

Week of May 5-11,2014

Zuzanna and I were privileged to visit Montenegro about a month ago. Our purpose was to find out more about the Roma (Gypsy) refugee camps in Podgorica and learn how we could help alleviate their present sufferings while sharing the love of Jesus with them. We found their situation quite dire. The will and the financial ability of the Montenegrin government comes short of meeting their physical needs.

Presently, there is a dental team visiting the camps preforming many procedures and meeting their needs. They are seeing 20 plus patients per day. This is a tremendous blessing to the refugees! Pastor Sinisa Nadazdin, head of Roma - REA Ministry Montenegro is praising God for the two dentists, Kriss and Thuha and the support team, who are blessing many refugees in the Konik camp.

As I visit each Balkan country I make it a priority to prayer walk the government buildings, in search of a breakthrough and to establish a stake in the ground. I did not get the sense that I accomplished this breakthrough when prayer-walking the Montenegrin capitol, which is yet another reminder of the spiritual hardness of this nation.

1) Let us pray for the love of Jesus to be manifested in the camps through the practical ministry of the dental team. May the people receiving dental care understand that God loved them so much, that He sent dentists to fix their teeth. May there be much lasting fruit as a result of this work.
2) Let us lift up Pastor Sinisa as he works with the refugees. May there be joy in their midst. May the Christian Roma in the camp live to be an example to the other refugees. 3) The country of Montenegro has an estimated 180 evangelical Christians. Let us pray for the strengthening of the Christians there and a reassurance that they are not alone. Let us hold up their weak arms like Aaron and Hur and pray that the Lord of all would give them new strength to live a victorious life.
4) Let us pray for a spiritual breakthrough in Montenegro. May the Lord stir hearts to believe for increase in Montenegro. May He break up the rocky ground of the Montenegrins hearts.
5) Montenegrin Christians need help from the larger Body of Christ abroad. Let us pray for churches and mission organizations throughout the world to turn their attention toward Montenegro. Let us pray also for the handful of Missionaries like Bukurije Nikqi and other organizations and churches who serve in Montenegro.
6) The Lord’s heart is for Montenegro to be a part of the coming revival. Let us pray for men and women who will hear His voice and follow His leading to pray for and go to Montenegro and leave the stamp of God on the nation.
7) Lord, deposit vision and strategies for evangelical events in Montenegro to reach the people. Lord, shine Your light on the dark land of Montenegro.

Week of Jan. 13-19, 2014
Evangelicals: 300, 0.0005% of population

Is Montenegro the least evangelized country in the world? It very well could because there are estimated to be only about 300 evangelicals in the whole country; three churches and some small home groups. There are Orthodox and Catholic churches but the people are far from being spiritually taught and delivered from the power of sin..
  1. Lord, we know it is in Your heart to reach the Montenegrin people. You desire to be lifted up in Montenegro. Lord, show us how to pray and send help.
  2. Let us pray for intercessors and prayer-walkers to be burdened for the many Montenegrins that do not know Jesus. May they pray through to the point of dominion over the enemies’ territorial bondage. Lord, let the enemies’ days be numbered; we demand he release the people.
  3. Let us pray for labors to be raised up to go to Montenegro. Holy Spirit, send out a Montenegrin Call and draw Christians to give their lives for this dry land.
  4. Lord, we ask for church planters to get a burden for the towns and villages of Montenegro. Lord, send Your “gathers”.
  5. Let us pray for the few churches and the small home groups. Lord, let grace be their portion at this time. Lord, release hope and expectation in their mist.
  6. What if, Orthodox and Catholic priest started having dreams and visions of the Word replacing icons and statues. Let us honor the painter and sculpture for their skilled representation of the Gospel, but it is the Word that can set Montenegrins free.
Ministry Prayer: Zuzanna and I arrived in Romania today and was met by our host. We started scouting out the stores where we can but shoes, coats, etc. for the humanitarian outreach.
Please Pray:

1. For the teams safe and healthy travel to Romania on Wed.1/16.
2. For ministry to the women; we are sharing health concerns, issues and prevention.
3. Ministry in the schools; sharing the danger of vises that can destroy ones life.
4. House to house distribution of clothing and food items among the very poor.
5. Attending and sharing in a gypsy (Roma) church on Sunday.
6. Pray that in every situation we will have the freedom to share Jesus and see many accept Him.

Pray for Montenegro

Week of Oct. 14-20, 2013

Country facts

Population: 677 000
Elevation: 0 - 8000 ft (0 - 2400 m) mostly mountainous
Primary language: Montenegrin
Ethnicity: 60% Montenegrin, 30% Serbian, 7% Albanian
Religion: One of the most unevangelised countries in all of Europe
Economy: Tourism, mining, metalwork, tobacco, grapes, olives, lumber milling

In my research I came across Faith Community Church in Montenegro, pastors Stan and Vicki Surbatovich. http://christianitymontenegro.org/ After reading their Beliefs statement and their Vision statement, I am encouraged in the Lord that His hand is upon them and that we should lift up their needs in prayer.

Prayer and Praise Bulletin Points:

1. Praise God that there is a season for everything, and that now is the season for the rhythms and routines of weekly and monthly bible studies and fellowship events.  Pray for those of us leading these studies and pray for those who come to hear:  that believers would grow and that the unbelievers would hear and respond to the Word of God.
2. Praise for the continued ministry of Samaritan's Purse Christmas Shoebox outreach in Montenegro and for those people willing to serve on the national team.  Pray particularly for Stan as the main coordinator because he will have an increasingly heavy workload regarding the project as the Christmas season draws near.
3. Praise for the excitement and energy of the Operation Mobilization team coming.  Pray that they would accomplish the physical projects without injury, and that they would both encourage and be encouraged as they engage in active witnessing.
4. There continues to be an acute need for work opportunities for believers.  Montenegro used to export a significant amount of medicinal and culinary herbs before the wars of the 90's, and that trade has never been resumed.  Milan and Stan will be going on an exploratory trip to a major natural product trade fair to investigate the possibilities.

Hebrews 7:24-26 (NIV)
But because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood.  Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.

Let us enter into the ministry of Jesus and pray for Montenegro.

5. Spiritually Montenegro is dark. The country’s name is translated “black mountain”. Let us thank the Lord that there is a light shining forth through Faith Community Church.
6. As King David encouraged himself let us be assured our intercession for the Light to shine in Montenegro will dispel the darkness.  2 Samuel 22:29 “For thou art my lamp, O Lord: and the Lord will lighten my darkness.”
7. Lord, we come to stand in the gap for Montenegro and ask for a move of the Holy Spirit to empower the Christians to do the work of ministry. May they be bold, full of faith and always abounding in good works that glorify the Father.
8. Let the day come when there will be rejoicing across Montenegro because the Light has come and the land is full of the goodness of the Lord.

Pray for Montenegro

Week of April 1-7, 2013

Montenegro is a small country with a population of just over a half million people. Here are some recent things of concern:
⦁    In the News - “Montenegro’s reforms are ambitious. And they are on the right path. We encourage you to continue your efforts, especially in reinforcing the rule of law, and fighting corruption and organized crime. More reforms in the defense sector will also be critical. There is still hard work to do. But Montenegro is moving in the right direction,” the NATO Secretary General Rasmussen said during a press conference with Prime Minister of Montenegro Milo Đukanović. http://www.nato.int/cps/en/SID-969823DC-94641015/natolive/news_99300.htm
⦁    There is investment money coming into Montenegro on the premise that it can be developed as a tourist destination.
⦁    In the News - A high-ranking Montenegrin state official resigned on Thursday after a video appeared on YouTube, which showed him having sex with an unidentified woman in his office, reported Radio Television Montenegro (RTCG).
⦁    Montenegro since their independence have been making slow but steady economic progress. There are still areas of great poverty, and many refugees from the Kosovo Crisis in the nineties continue to live here in bunkers and makeshift homes. There are only three protestant churches in Montenegro, with a few small home groups meeting along the coastline.

1)    Let us pray for items and issues the NATO secretary mentioned. Pray that Montenegro would truly enforce just laws and especially crackdown on corruption.  Government officials need to be true to codes of law and not let money and favoritism pervert justice.
2)    Let us thank the Lord for exposure of that government official who resigned. May others be exposed who are stealing and lying to the Montenegrin people.
3)    We have prayed for investment to pour into the country before. Let us pray for the investment for tourism to be channeled toward helpful projects and not sinful places like casinos, breweries, etc.
4)    Let us pray that many Christians throughout the world would hear of the great spiritual needs in Montenegro and would invest time and money this coming summer. May the Lord raise up many intercessors to pray for Montenegro.
5)    We pray for those three evangelical churches in the country. Lord, purify them so they would be seen by Montenegrins as a safe place. May the pastors and members reach out beyond their walls to the hurting around them.
6)    Let us pray for the home groups that have been started. May the glory of the Lord be in their mist when they meet and may peace be on these homes at all times. Bless the families that host these meetings.
7)    Let us pray for complete freedom for these churches and home groups. May the Orthodox churches and the government not team up to brand these churches as cults but freely let them operate.
8)    There are many poor and suffering from health problems in Montenegro. Let us pray that the glorious Gospel would be proclaimed and demonstrated to the suffering.

Let me thank you for praying with us for the Balkan countries. May the Lord’s presence be with you as you pray. Let me quote Gordon Lindsay, “It is in recognizing the actual presence of God that we find prayer no longer a chore, but a supreme delight.”

Pray for Montenegro

Week of Dec. 24-30, 2012

I know we are all preoccupied by Christmas (Jesus’ birth), which is good, but please take time to pray for Montenegro.

Montenegro is one of the least evangelized countries in Europe and has the fewest Christians per population in all of Europe. Most people in Montenegro have never heard the Gospel.

Religious belief in Montenegro

The Serbian and Montenegrin Orthodox churches (two different denominations) claim to be the religion of the people but this claim is a farce and a tragedy.

The example in Niksic [Montenegro] is instructive: The population of the city of Niksic is around 70,000. Around 60% of the population would claim to be "Orthodox." Yet there is only one Serbian Orthodox church that regularly holds services, and on any given Lord's Day there will only be around 50 people that attend the whole service. Many who claim to be Montenegrin or Serbian Orthodox have no idea what the Montenegrin or Serbian Orthodox church teaches and have never even been inside a Montenegrin or Serbian Orthodox church building.

What is extraordinarily sad is that many of the Serbian Orthodox leaders are just like the Pharisees of whom Jesus said, "But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you shut off the kingdom of heaven from men; for you do not enter in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in." (Matt. 23:13) So many Serbian Orthodox leaders do not preach the Gospel; they do not call Montenegrins to faith and repentance, they do not teach the love of Christ, but they do call biblical Christians a "sect" and liken us to Satanists and tell people not to listen to us. It is so sad that many Montenegrins listen to this kind of propaganda. Read More: http://christianitymontenegro.org/christianity.php

1)    Please pray that God would open the eyes of Montenegrins to see the Gospel and the lies of those who would hinder them.
2)    Please pray that the mouths of those who speak lies would be shut and that their lies would be ineffectual.
3)    Let us pray that intercessors would be raised up in Montenegro. May they take their place on the walls and cry out day and night for the Spirit to come.
4)    Holy Spirit, we ask that You go forth and prepare the hearts of Montenegrins to receive the Gospel.
5)    We pray for the breaking of old, un-redemptive mental images Montenegrins have of Christians, church and Jesus as just on icon. Lord, activate the need for a savior in their hearts.
6)    Let us pray for the Lord of the harvest to send out labors to gather Montenegrins unto His Kingdom. I truly believe the Lord has plans to evangelize Montenegro. He just needs committed Christians that He can trust His plans to.
7)    May foreign churches and ministries be drawn to the spiritual needs in Montenegro. May they send help; may workers and money be sent to help the few churches that have been started.
8)    There was a “Christmas shoebox drive” in Montenegro this season; let us pray for powerful results as the Lord uses His servants to distribute about 5,000 boxes. Lord, may there be an anointing on each box.
9)    Let us pray for workers to do follow-up with those that have received boxes.

IN THE NEWS: Montenegrins debate political offer for October election
22/09/2012
The campaign for Montenegro's ninth parliamentary election began September 14th amid a debate about whether the fractured opposition can muster the strength to unseat the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) and its coalition partners, who have ruled for 23 years.
1) Let us pray for the election coming up in Montenegro in October. Let us pray for the DPS party who will likely stay in power. We pray that men and women of good consciences would be elected to be servants of the state.
2) Lord, we ask for servants that do their duty for the people not profiteers. Change the hearts of those running for office. If they are not honest, expose their miss-deeds.

3) Let us pray for morality to arise. May fathers and mothers live righteous before their children and these children grow up to respect what is right.
4) Lord, we know that You honor the righteous. May righteousness be taught in the churches of Montenegro. Although there are very few evangelical churches in Montenegro, may these dear saints be known as people that can be trusted.
5) We pray that the Orthodox and Catholic churches would be moved to make morality a cornerstone of their teachings.
6) We ask that moral righteous educators would be in charge of the school curriculums in Macedonia. Give them the desire to teach honesty, respect and duty to others.
7) Let us pray for the gates of righteousness to be opened up to Montenegro.
Psalm 24:7
Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in.

Psalm 118:19
Open to me the gates of righteousness; I will go through them, And I will praise the LORD.

8) Let us pray for these few evangelical churches. Lord, give them favor in the culture.
9) Let us pray for the pastors of Montenegro. May they have the wisdom, finances and anointing to be full-time for the Lord.

Pray for Montenegro 7-9-12

~ Pray for Montenegro ~

Week of July 9-15, 2012

In April when we prayed for Montenegro, one of our directives was to pray against cronyism and corruption in the government.

IN THE NEWS: OSCE Chairmanship representative, in Podgorica, welcomes Montenegro’s reform progress

As OSCE [Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe] reported, in a meeting with Montenegro’s Foreign Minister Milan Rocen, she [Minister for European Affairs Lucinda Creighton] discussed OSCE support to the country in democratization, rule of law, media freedom, and combating high-level corruption and organized crime.

“We urge Montenegro to do more in the fight against high-level corruption and organized crime and to ensure full respect for fundamental rights and freedoms. These are priorities of the OSCE in the country and I am pleased that we are working on addressing these issues together,” she said.

1) We thank You, Lord for beginning to deal with the corruption in Montenegro.

2) Lord, we just ask that the people of Montenegro would be able to do business and go to court without having to pay someone off for favor.

3) Human lust and greed is born into the heart of every man and can only be tamed by a power greater than himself. Thank You Lord that You have a solution: Your awesome love. Lord, let the message of Your great redemptive love be heard in Macedonia.

4) One of the ways of spreading God’s love is through summer youth camps. May this be a year when the camps planned by the churches in Montenegro are bigger and better than they have ever been.

5) Lord, we pray that You would release the provisions for these youth camps.

6) May the churches reach out to the communities’ un-churched youth and be able to give these children scholarships.

7) May volunteers come from other countries to help with the camps in Montenegro.

8) Let us pray for speakers that will speak the truth to the youth about sin and its destructive results, about God’s forgiveness and bring them into the joy of salvation.

Psalm 35:9
And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD; It shall rejoice in His salvation.

Pray for Montenegro
Week of April 23-29, 2012
When I begin to pray and meditate on Montenegro, I got the word Cronyism.
Cronyism defined - partiality given to long-standing friends, especially by appointing them to positions of authority, regardless of their qualifications.
1)      Let us pray against unmerited favor in Montenegrin government. How can the citizens have faith in their government when Cronyism is the standard.
2)      Lord, we ask You to expose all officials involved in this practice.
Second thing to pray about is the International Donors Conference scheduled for April 24th in Sarajevo, Bosnia. This can have an impact on the Kosovo Gypsy Refugees trapped in under-furnished camps in Montenegro. The Montenegrin government has a plan to build housing for these refugees but they need funding. (Prayer for these gypsies has been included in past “Praying for the Balkans, Project” directives) Source: http://www.balkaninsight.com/en/article/montenegro-needs-donors-for-roma-refugees
3)      Lord, only You know, but this International Donors Conference may be an answer to our past prayers. Thank You, Lord.
4)      Thank You, Lord, for the plan and the men and women that took part in the development. May they see the Lord guiding their hands.
5)      Let us ask for a holistic approach to this refugee problem. Holistic in the fact that the people’s souls are ministered to and they are treated as individuals and not just a needy group. Lord, we just ask for an open door for Christians to supply spiritual healing.
6)      Lord, we pray for anointed saints to be burdened for these refugees. Lord, is this an open door similar to what the Apostle Paul had: 1 Cor. 16: 8-9 But I will tarry in Ephesus until Pentecost.  For a great and effective door has opened to me, and there are many adversaries.
7)      There is a Christian mission group that has been ministering in these camps – Eurovangelism (www.eurovangelism.org.uk). Lord, we pray they would be awarded with more anointing and finances to continue their work.
I also heard in my spirit that Montenegro needs intercessors.
8)      Lord, we ask that You put Montenegro on the hearts of the intercessors. May the bowls before God’s throne be filled with incense of prayers for Montenegro.
9)      Let us pray that the Holy Spirit would be released in Montenegro to draw men unto Jesus.
10)   Let us pray for Montenegrin Christians that will follow Jesus no matter what. Pastors, teachers, evangelist, etc. that love Jesus with all their heart.
1 Cor. 2:9  - But as it is written:  “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

Pray for Montenegro
Week of Jan 30 - Feb. 5, 2012

Montenegro since their independence have been making slow but steady economic progress. There are still areas of great poverty, and many refugees from the Kosovo Crisis in the nineties continue to live here in bunkers and makeshift homes. There are only three protestant churches in Montenegro, with a few small home groups meeting along the coastline.  - Report from www.eurovangelism.org.uk

1)      Let us pray for those three protestant churches. Lord, we ask for your great favor to move upon them. May their pastors be brought up under Your wings.

2)      Let us pray for the home groups. May they increase this year. May outsiders see their love and want to be apart. “By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”  John 13:35

3)      Lord, we ask that this week You would manifest Yourself to the evangelical pastors in Macedonia in such a way that they cannot deny it was not You.

4)      Let us pray for intercessors for Montenegro. That they would be obedient to the following scriptures:

“Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” Matt.9:38

“So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one.” Ezekiel 22:30

5)      Oh, Lord Jesus, please turn Your face toward Montenegro. The situation is really bad there, so Lord, send spiritual relief.

6)      Let us pray for grace. Let us pray for mercy. Let us intercede asking the Lord to extend His mercy to Montenegro. God was going to destroy the Children of Israel but Moses interceded. People are living in severe poverty, the mafia is stealing what they can and there are no moral absolutes in the culture.

7)      Let us pray for great spiritual and financial investments from Christians outside of Montenegro. Put Montenegro in their hearts and stir them to give and/or go to help.

Pray for Montenegro

Montenegro recorded an increase of over 14% in tourist arrivals for September 2011 over September of last year.

Montenegro is a very poor country but things are changing. Investment has come and the beautiful coast is being developed. I remember being burned for the people in poverty in Montenegro years ago. If tourism is the answer then may we pray into it.

1. Lord, we trust that You are bringing a blessing to Montenegro. May the riches of the nations come to this small nation on the Adriatic Sea.

2. As the vacation/tourist industry develops, let us pray for Christians to go seek employment there. The Apostle Paul used his skill as a tent maker to finance and open doors of ministry. Let us pray that the Lord would send “tent makers” into Montenegro to be a witness.

This morning, after reading about tourism in Montenegro, I went to Youtube.com and started watching videos about the Montenegrin coast. I was especially attracted to the following video about the Bay of Kotor; http://youtu.be/FtgwzMecW1A. Although the lady’s English is hard to understand, the video’s scenery is amazing. I also went to Google maps and zoomed in on the bay.

Then it was time to go to church. During worship time at church I kept seeing that satellite view of Kotor Bay. I spent most of the worship time praying for the Bay of Kotor.

3. Lord, you created this beautiful bay on the Montenegro coast. Lord, the Bible says You looked out over the multitude and had compassion on them. Lord, we pray that Your compassion be poured out on Kotor Bay.

4. The last I heard was that there was a house church being established near there. Let us pray for the raising up of a church in that bay.

5. Lord, I know You answer prayer. I just believe You are hearing us right now and the Holy Spirit is about to move. Whatever embers of hope are already there, You are about to blow on them.

6. Lord, I thank You for the video (mentioned above). As the camera spans the bay from the mountain tops, I pray down blessings on to the towns and villages.

7. Let us pray that the Lord of the harvest will send labors to this bay. May the “Fishers of men” cast in their nets. Lord, send evangelist, use the “tent makers”, may many be compelled to go with the Gospel.

Isaiah 6:8

Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying:
“ Whom shall I send,
And who will go for Us?”
Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.”

Pray for Montenegro

We are exhorted by the Lord to Pray for nations at the national level. 1 Timothy 2 is very clear that by doing so the people are able to live “a quiet and peaceful life”.

1 Timothy 2: 1-3 Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,

1) Let us pray for the government of Montenegro. We pray for the elected and appointed officials, we ask You, Lord to direct their lives.

Pray for President Filip VUJANOVIC: A public servant that has been a prosecutor and in April 2008 was elected the first president of Montenegro.

Pray for Prime Minister Igor LUKSIC: First nominated to the office after the first PM resigned in December of 2010.

Pray for Dep. Prime Min. for Economic Politics & the Financial System Vujica LAZOVIC: Since 2006 - performs the function of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs in the Government of Montenegro.

Pray for Minister of Economy Vladimir KAVARIC: In December 2010, he was elected for the Minister of Economy in the Government of Montenegro. After reading some of his writings, I am personally impressed that he has truly rejected old communist thinking and embraces free capitalism.. http://forum.freestateproject.org/index.php?topic=9220.0;wap2

2) We pray for the bureaucracy and all government organizations. May each agency be filled with godly servants.
3) We pray for Christian friendly laws in Montenegro and respect for evangelicals.
4) Let us pray for the economy of Macedonia. Among the president and prime minister I listed two economic ministers above because I felt they need the Holy Spirit to hover over them.
Luke 19:16-18 (NKJV) Then came the first, saying, ‘Master, your mina has earned ten minas.’ And he said to him, ‘Well done, good servant; because you were faithful in a very little, have authority over ten cities.’ And the second came, saying, ‘Master, your mina has earned five minas.’

5) Let us pray for “good servants” for Montenegro. I quoted Luke 19:16-18 because it is a fact of history that in secular governments, money rules. Let us pray for good servants that will create a healthy and prosperous economic atmosphere for Montenegro.
6) Lord, we ask You to look over the land of Montenegro and hand pick Christians to go into public service.
7) Lord, we ask You to expose those that are cheats, liars, and covetous. Clean out the Montenegrin government of under-the –table dealing politicians.
8) Montenegro is a land of hope. Once the goodness of the people and the rich resources come into their prime, Montenegro will be a city on a hill.

Pray for Montenegro

(News)
BRUSSELS, Belgium --03/05/2011-- The European Commission (EC) will carefully monitor Montenegrin authorities' steps in guaranteeing security during the first ever Gay Pride parade in the country, scheduled for May 31st, EC spokesperson Natasha Butler said on Monday (May 2nd). She added that threats against event organizers, posted in Facebook, are raising concerns. Butler said participation by senior officials in the Gay Pride event would be a symbolic gesture supporting the fight against discrimination.

1) Let us pray against this event on May 31st that is aimed at displaying the homosexual lifestyle. First of all Lord, we ask You to confuse their plans. Pray that either the participation will be so small or just have to cancel. Second that Montenegrins would feel repulsive toward this event. Also let’s pray that godly men and women would reach out to those that identify themselves as homosexual.
2) This is a time of great change in Montenegro. Let us pray that there would be respect for the churches and the Christians by the government, market place, civil institutions, etc.
3) Let us pray against the sins of the past in Montenegro; sins of incest, wife beating, adultery, drunkenness, and child neglect. Lord we ask You to bring your healing touch to the people.
4) Lord, we realize there has to be Christians ready to present Your healing touch. Lord, prepare feet to walk in peace and anointed holy hands to touch the people. Lord, we are asking for the ministry of healing to cover Montenegro.
5) Let us pray for a summer of Christian outreach. Lord, give a burden to the Christians for their lost friends.
6) Let us pray for strategies to be released to the churches to reach out to the culture around them; youth camps, food programs, street drama, neighborhood outreaches, etc
7) Most of all Lord, teach the Montenegrin Christians to pray in power knowing You hear and answer in Your timing.
8) Let us pray for Prime Minister Igor Lukšić. Lord, surround him with godly men and women, those that love justice. Give him wisdom to guide the economy of Macedonia

Pray for Montenegro

Mountains, mountains, everywhere mountains. Montenegro is covered with mountains. The name even means Black Mountain.

I look to the mountains;
where will my help comes from?
My help will come from the LORD,
who made heaven and earth.
Psalm 121:1

1) Let us pray that the people of Montenegro will look at God’s marvelous creation, and how He laid out the mountains and will recognize His glory.
Montenegro, like much of Europe, exhibits vestiges of a Christian past. Though Christian symbolism is visible, however, it is relegated merely to architecture.

2) Ask the Lord how you should pray for all the empty church buildings in Montenegro of past generations. They were built well so they are there for many more generations. Is there a spiritual seed to water or do we plant new seeds?

3) The early Apostles and Prophet must have preached on the mountains of Macedonia. Can those seeds be resurrected? We say Yes, and Amen!

4) I just want to see priest getting saved and on fire for God. Lord, break the traditions and bring forth new life.

5) Oh, Lord, let the Holy Spirit loose in Montenegro. Lord, You said that in the last days You would pour out Your Spirit on all flesh. That means Montenegro also.

There was a seed planted in 1996. No known evangelical church existed in Montenegro until 1996. That year Dusan Kljaic, a graduate of Evangelical Theological Seminary in Osijek, Croatia, came to establish a congregation.

6) There has been congregations spring up because of that seed planted by Dusan. Lord, we ask that You breathe on those evangelical churches. May You, Lord, live through their testimony.

7) Let us pray that doors of opportunity will open up for the Christians in Montenegro. The tourist business is positioned to grow in Montenegro, May Christians have strategies to provide food, shelter and other accommodations for the tourist.

I traverse the way of righteousness,
In the midst of the paths of justice,
That I may cause those who love me to inherit wealth,
That I may fill their treasuries.
Psalm 8:20-21

A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children,
But the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous.
Psalm 13:21

8) Lord, You said You would bless the righteous. Lord, Montenegrin Christians need Your help now. We pray in agreement with God’s word. May every Christian have a job and joyfully bring their tithe into the house of the Lord.
